Sound
1. Skateboard on street = water falling from a faucet or hose into the hollow bottom of a plastic pail.
2. Kiss, closed mouth = creak of a crooked floorboard against the rusted nail's slim body.
3. People talking in whispers = many sleeping heads rustling atop their pillows.
4. Kiss, open mouth = syrup being poured into a crystal goblet.
5. Campagnolo Super Record drivetrain from the 1970s Paris-Roubaix races = a perfect infinite zipper made of slick oiled gold being zipped together at a resoundingly perfect tempo with no fluxuation at all (except for when they hit the cobbles, which adds a distinct but not overbearing bit of rattle.)
6. Happiness = the cat's claws clicking on the hardwood floor.
7. A Wattled Bellbird singing (ascending series of overlapping squeaks followed by a distinct "bonk") = the many doors of a large estate during a fight between the residents being flung open and shut as the couple progresses through the rooms, arguing and slamming doors.
8. Feverishly typing on an aged typewriter = a gaggle of high-heeled girls running somewhere, pausing for breath, then running more.
9. Pandora's old sigh after being woken up, just before falling back to sleep = the only audible example of pure reassurance, a rare and extinct jewel.
10. A hand finding another in the night = the hush of two palms kissing.
11. First steps of a morning walk = the turning of the brittle pages of a book that hasn't been read in a decade, cracking with newness.
12. A headache = broken glass breaking a second time over a pile of rocks containing tiny microphones which then broadcast the shatter on a series of tin speakers pointed in all directions at once so that the intersections of the noise create a second set of shatters all their own, and as the louder the collision gets the more the audio starts to repeat itself in an endless and sad delayed loop.
