-Government as institution, described in an de-politicized and roundabout way.
-Institution as creator: necessity drives the making.
-Audience in relation to object as art: thing's impact on population.
-Object in relation to audience as art: population's impact on thing.
-Autonomous process as art, described in a machinelike fashion so as to mimic the process of stamping out coins.
-Accident as epiphany: the machine's mistake! and how strange that whole thing is.
-Governmental nonentity as artist and the invisibility of creation - process compartmentalized so as to remove the "artist" (traditional definition, single craftsman working on single thing).
-Individual as accident and as art and how these coins are the same as us peoples.
-Value in mistakes/art in accidents, or perhaps "the art of the accident" which would somewhat tackle the vague implication that accidents are just an intervention of god/etc into our ordered world.
-Error coin viewed as a "criminal" of the system, a threat worth eradicating and a compromise to the integrity of our government's rules.
-Error coin as evidence of government's spontaneity which somehow contradicts all teenager's gripes that "the system sucks"; art as the saviour of the whole institution.
-Error coin as vandalism: no need for further explanation.
-Error coin as admission of fallibility on behalf of government: quite similar to the point made two entries above this one - possible redundancy.
-Art in the ordinary/art in variation of ordinary - people as coins, artists/genius as error-coins. Examples of "tortured artists"; flaws as distinctions.
-Beauty in mistakes, mistakes in beauty. Coin as humanity, mistakes as creation and god.
-Devise a formula that explains this whole thing: rigidity of expectation + sliver of surprise = art
--------------------------------------------------------
Forecasting my needs, and organizing my impulses - it is a sticky and sloppy thing but, sadly, needed. It's a new approach, at least and perhaps that newness has some value not quite tangible in the now of Now.
Paragraphs of varying lengths to follow shortly - one per point mentioned above. More, if needed, and less if not. There must be some fiction to be found somewhere in that heap.
Come back in a week.
